Cartilage Lesions
Cartilage is a smooth and elastic tissue that covers and protects the long bones of joints. When this tissue damaged called cartilage lesion. The cartilage doesn’t have vascularity and because of that is difficult to repair it. A lesion in the cartilage creates friction in the joint and that causes pain, stiffness and sometimes swelling. In some cases a knee cartilage lesion, for example, can lead to arthritis.
