Peroneal tendinitis
The peroneal tendons are located on the outside area of the ankle joint, behind the bone called fibula.
Τhe tendinitis suggests that there is inflammation in the tendon. Τhis usually happens because of overuse, which means that a patient or athlete is doing a repetitive activity (inappropriate training or a rapid increase in training intensity combined with unsuitable footwear) that stimulates the tendon for long period of time.
Patients usually experience pain on the back / outside area of the ankle.
