Runners Knee
Iliotibial band is a thin film that begins at the center of the hip joint and ends at the periphery of the knee joint.
Runners knee is caused by the excessive friction of the peripheral part of the band as it moves over the extra vein in the repetitive bending and extension of the knee resulting in irritation and inflammation.
The main symptom in this disease is the pain on the outside area of the knee.
